About Penbugle Organic Farm
The Ridout family moved to Cornwall, from Shaftesbury in Dorset, leaving behind a very special farming history to start a new chapter in 2005, and to seek out new challenges in the rolling hills of south east Cornwall.
Penbugle Farm is 260 acres and is fully organic; it is home to the Donhead Herds of pedigree South Devon and Red Ruby Devon cattle which calve in the spring of each year, giving them traditional native beef to sell direct and to other markets.
In addition we have native rare breed Oxford, Sandy and Black pigs producing gorgeous pork, sausages and bacon. We have Lleyn and Polled Dorset sheep. Not forgetting our cluck of hens, kept in small, mobile free-range units laying beautiful organic free range eggs. There are also Dales ponies on the farm, and various other 4 legged friends.
We’re developing a wild flower meadow on the farm, with the help of Cornwall Wildlife Trust, to ensure that biodiversity is encouraged and supported.
We’re passionate about what we do. We love farming and believe when it comes to making good food choices, information is the key. We know for example, that organic food can be slightly more expensive (although not always!) so click on the links to find out more information about us and what we do:
If you have any other questions however, or if you would like to stock our fully certified products, please feel free to contact us.
